GILLES AUBRY (CH)
Born 1973, Gilles Aubry is a swiss musician & sound artist based in Berlin since 2002. His various activities range from sound installations to rock concerts over radio performances, and a lot of improvised music.
His most recent works include ´ FLOW ª (2002-03), an information art project together with media artist Ulrike Gabriel, ´ TRAFIC ª (2003), a site specific sound installation, ´ Ortmusik ª (2003) and ´ SECRET MUSIC ª (2004), a serie of musical interventions in public locations in Berlin ,´ La MatiËre et l?Echo ª (2004), a concert/installation for 12 loudspeakers, ´ Six Cowsª (2005), a sound installation with artist Soichiro Mitsuya and ´ Camp Victory ª (2005), a noise opera with text author StÈphane Montavon.
As a computer musician, Gilles Aubry has been touring and recording widely troughout Europe and Russia during the last decade. Over the years, he has developed a unique style of realtime improvisation with computer.
Among his current working bands one can mention ´ MONNO ª, a powerfull experimental-rock combo produced by belgian indie-label Conspiracy, ´The Same Girl ª, with british drummer Nicolas Field (the duo toured Russia and the balkan states in spring 2004), ´ Swift Machine ª a berlin based electro-acoustic trio (CD on Creative Sources in 2005) and finaly, Gilles Aubry?s computer solo project ´ ANTI TAUPE ª.
Beside that, Gilles Aubry was involved in numerous collaborations with musicians such as Axel Doerner (DE), Dave Philips (UK), Christian Wolz (D), John Hegre (NO), Klaus Filip (AT), Jaime Fenely (USA), Le Qua Ninh (FR), Seiji Murayama (JP), Vladislaw Makarov (RU), Mickael Renkel (D), Bertrand Denzler (CH), Dirk Bruinsma (NL), Tao Samalec (SLO), Tom Tlalim (ISR) and Eric Cordier (FR).
