RADIO: RE-INVENTION AND LOCALITY
24.09 | 18.30 | Goethe-Institut Portugal em Lisboa
Ed Baxter | Diana McCarty | João Almeida
The global village is changing the landscape and fusing reference points
(the same music, food, brands are everywhere). Radio, as a social
medium, has a chance, more than ever, to re-invent itself and focus
more on becoming a catalist for local cultural actions and
promotion. New local radio movements, opened up to artists, have make
themselfs more noticed these last years under this same focus.
National Radios dedicated to culture have also, comming from another
angle, started to work under this ideas.
TECNOLOGY AND RADIO MUTATION
25.09 | 18.30 | Goethe-Institut Portugal em Lisboa
Pit Schultz | Anna Friz | Paula Cordeiro
The internet and spin-off technologies enforce new ways of thinking
about radio. They have added new ways for radio to reach listeners
and lowered barriers for radio creation and transmission. So, how
does these are being used by artists and what new approaches to
radio are being pursued. In fact, in this new context, what is
Radio?
